If you’re not one for twittering or any other type of social networking, you can keep abreast of the latest news from people or organisations we follow at St Mary’s. We now publish a daily paper, at 8am each day, which is a daily digest of news from Twitter or the internet. This ranges from church news, Traidcraft, charities or local events.

As a reminder, these are the services for Holy Week and Easter:
Monday 2nd – Tuesday 3rd April
7.00pm Compline. A short reflective Service.
Wednesday 4th April
10.00am Holy Communion followed by refreshments
Maundy Thursday 5th April
10.30am Chrism Eucharist (Dewsbury Minster)
7.00pm Passover Meal (Parish Centre). This is a shared meal to reenact the Last Supper. Please let the Vicar know if you are wanting to attend so enough places can be laid out. Also, as this is a shared meal, please bring along an item of food.
Church will be open for quiet prayer from 9-10.00pm
Good Friday 6th April
12.00-3.00pm At the foot of the Cross. A series of reflections – come when you can, go when you must. Followed by refreshments at the Vicarage.
Saturday 7th April
8.30pm Easter Eve reflective service (meet in the Parish Centre)
Easter Sunday 8th April
10.30am All-Age Easter Celebration
12.00pm Holy Communion for Easter

The children at the local Hill Top Primary School have been drawing pictures about Holy Week and Easter. We have displayed the pictures around church from today, Palm Sunday.
The pictures start with Palm Sunday, go through Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and finally Easter Sunday.

Lent is not only a time for giving something up, it’s a time for prayer and reflection. At St Mary’s there are two main ways we have devised to help you with this:
- Lent Prayer Calendar – this is available from church or from downloading it from this web site (click here to view the post). This calendar has a thought for every day throughout Lent, written by members of St Mary’s congregation.
- Lent Groups – this will be held each Tuesday in Lent at the Vicarage in both the afternoon and evening, see the calendar page for exact time, and contact the Vicar if you’d like to attend.
As well as these local activities, the Church of England has released an App for iPhone or iPad with a Lenten reflection and prayer for each day. This is a sample page from the iPad, and the download link is here. The App costs £1.49.
